Our body is a very specific machine that we must take care of. It requires movement and exercise, proper nutrition and hydration, mental stimulation, and the list goes on. When we fail to take proper care of our bodies, our “machine” begins to malfunction and we find ourselves very limited— limited to the dreaded pants size that we thought we’d never find ourselves purchasing, limited to missing out on playing ball with our children because we can’t catch our breath, limited to a lack of confidence that keeps us from going out in the community and networking, and limited to the physical accomplishments that our bodies are capable of. Our health and wellness extends much further than physical health, however. Mental “Health and Wellness” is just as important and responsive to how we treat our bodies. Ask yourself how you feel and spend time really thinking it over. How do you feel about your current situation in life—your job, your relationships, your state of mind when you wake up each day? How do you feel about how your body is functioning- your endurance, the amount that you’re sick and lethargic, your physical strength? Recently, I’ve learned the importance of not settling in life— your comfort zone can seem cozy and harmless, but it’s not a safe place to stay. Do you feel like there is more to life? Go find it. Do you feel like you are capable of more? Go try it. Whatever you do, don’t settle, mentally or physically. Kristopher McLane Jena Liles Rhonda Lairsey Shannon Richmond Katelyn French Helen Adami Bertie Reynolds Charlie Collins President/CEO Chief Financial Officer Director of Membership Services Director of Membership Services Director of Communications Director of Events Information Specialist Information Specialist You always hear the phrase, “Live your life to the fullest.” Poor health makes this impossible. Assess how you feel, take steps to improve your current situation, and remember to breathe. The grass is greener on the other side.
