Husker Shorts By The Omaha Scene Staff For anyone that had doubts on either a local or national level about the ability of Mike Riley and this Husker team to prove itself against a legitimate program, there isn’t a need to question anymore. Nebraska stepped up last Saturday in a B1G way. This program is heading in the right direction, and in spite of numerous injuries the Huskers managed to gain, at least in my mind, a moral victory. Nebraska has another big showdown this weekend in Columbus. At last check the Buckeyes are a 16 to 17 point favorite for the win at the Horseshoe in Columbus, Ohio. In the one time the Huskers have managed to defeat the Buckeyes it was in Lincoln and they had to stage the largest comeback in program history to do it. However, if last week was any indication, don’t expect the game to get out of control. Nebraska has proven that they can run with anyone and I’m convinced that we will make this another close one.
