His improvisational ability, quick wit and high energy have earned him the reputation as one of the country’s fastest rising comedians. His appearance has been described as “a cross between Opie Taylor and Don Rickles, or a potent concoction of innocence and devilment.” This may explain why Henley can turn perfectly reasonable adults into guffawing idiots when he struts across the stage. Henley’s show covers a variety of topics including current events, sports, religion, relationships and politics. This explains how he is able to entertain diverse audiences all over the world as evidence by his appearances at Montreal’s Just for Laughs Comedy Festival and Edinburgh, Scotland’s Fringe Festival. London’s Sunday Times quotes, “There’s something about his smooth southern drawl and beaming face that makes everything sound like a little message of love.” Vic Henley will be at Omaha Funny Bone November 10-13, Village Pointe, Suite 201, 17305 Davenport St, Omaha, NE 68118 The artist this week is Bailey Audrey! About Bailey... What group and or artist most influenced your music style? I like to call my music style “Edgy Acoustic”. I listen to all kinds of music, but the most relative would be a band called Set It Off. Their lyrics are meaningful, and that’s the most important thing to me in music making. Favorite food? Sushi, pizza and Chinese. If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why? I’d love the ability to fly, or move things with my mind! Where else can we hear you play in Omaha? I like to pop into a few open mics here and there. Find my music on Facebook or Instagram: @baileyaudreymusic. Enjoy the sounds of Bailey this Friday, 7 to 9pm at Flagship Commons, Westroads Mall, 10000 California St., Omaha, Ne 68114 You’ll be treated to a multi-course dinner that features a beer pairing with each course. Husker Shorts By The Omaha Scene Staff Well, this was a little unexpected. The Huskers started off right out of the gate with a tipped pass that resulted in an interception. They seemed to bounce back and drove the ball right down the field, but had to settle for a field goal and that was the end of the good news for the Big Red. They just didn’t seem to be able to get the balls to bounce in the right direction. And let’s face it, there’s no need for a coach to tell you that if you can’t stop the offense from scoring in any way and the punter has his coat on, it’s definitely going to be a bad day (or night in this case). The injury to Tommy Armstrong made matters go from bad to worse. Thankfully he’ll be fine, but it was definitely not helpful as the Huskers seemed to thoroughly fall apart. Nebraska had 9 First Downs compared to 34 by Ohio State. We were out rushed 238 to 78, and the Buckeyes had the ball for almost a full quarter longer than we did. The biggest concern for Coach Riley may be how the Huskers are going to bounce back from this one. It took far less of a beating than this to send the team into a tailspin last year, but these boys at least, so far, seem to be more resilient (minus this meltdown). Moving forward as one can only do, the Huskers are looking like they may have to start senior Ryker Fyfe. While Tommy is still listed as the starter on paper, it will take until at least Thursday to know for sure if he’s able to go or not. The Golden Gophers come into Lincoln with a four-game winning streak. If Nebraska is going to come out of this one with a win, the Huskers will have to find a way to fix some of their mistakes and play four quarters while forgetting about getting blasted by the Buckeyes. Minnesota is currently 7-2 with their only losses coming to Penn State in a close one and Iowa in a rivalry game. With that being said, the Huskers are still better than the Golden Gophers.
