Preface Sylvie has let us enter her inner world which is filled with authenticity and truth. Her world is in fact, a mirror of our own inner sacred space which is hidden in us. The level of consciousness found in this book has touched me deeply. With an amazing simplicity, we understand from Sylvie's writings that through the process of gratitude, taking back our power is now within our reach. She teaches us in an accessible and concrete way to connect to the wisdom of gratitude thereby giving us access directly to universal energy. In a balanced mix of personal experience and scientific research, Sylvie proposes original exercises to us which opens the way to a very new world of possibilities. I believe that if everyone had access to the wisdom of this book, we would have a more harmonious relationship with the Earth and her inhabitants. True health as described in this book speaks out to me fully as a health professional. Thank you Sylvie, for enriching my practice and thank you on behalf of my clients who will benefit from it! Sylvie says to us: "I attract that which I Am". This inspires us to transform ourselves to enhance the attraction in our life of joy, love, serenity and abundance. We all have potential hidden deep within us, hidden by our illusions and our blockages. I invite you to make yourself available and to bathe in the vibration of the gratitude of this book and thus, increase the richness of your existence and those which surround you. Sylvie offers her gift to the world; love yourself enough to open it! With love and gratitude, thank you. Dr. Guillaume Corbin Chiropractor D.C. Preface

Introduction To feel Gratitude, is to put oneself in tune with the Universe. Gratitude is a feeling which connects us directly to our hearts and when her power is understood, we never want to lose it again! The high vibration of Gratitude lifts us and helps us become a vibratory match with the object of our desires, whether it concerns our health, our general well-being or the abundance which we attract and circulate in our being and in our life. A multitude of ways exists to express Gratitude, possibly as many ways as there are human beings living on the Earth. However, certain forms are easily more recognizable by all, for example, giving thanks and recognition. What could be better than a true story to show Gratitude's exponential power! When my daughter was only 4 years old, she was hospitalized for a long illness following an emotional shock. What began as an allergy to penicillin quickly transformed itself into severe systemic rheumatoid arthritis. Her whole body held her captive. This disease consumed her for seven long years while she alternated between St-Justine hospital and Marie-Enfant, both located in Montreal, Quebec. She moved herself around in a wheel chair suffering enormously. Her joints were deforming and she took great quantities of medication. As this disease became part of our daily lives, a routine settled in. I felt powerless, but at the same time, I refused to give up, even when all seemed lost. At a certain moment, Mylène obtains a release from the hospital for the weekend. While she is with me, I see her health decline, life seems to run out of her small body; she is so pale that her skin is translucent, we see her veins through her lips and her face is waxen; she weakens to such a point that I decide to return to the hospital earlier than planned. It is at this moment that I am in a state of shock for the first time of my life. I am told that Mylène has approximately six to seven hours to live if she does not receive a blood transfusion. The doctors, nurses and male Introduction

nurses' work around her and one of them tells me that a plane is coming from Toronto with a reserve of blood. These are the last words that I hear. From then on, all I hear is a buzz and I do not understand anything, until someone takes me by the shoulders to move me aside. I come back to my senses while feeling so vulnerable at the same time. How come there is nothing I can do to save my daughter? Mylène suffered a haemorrhage and all her blood lodged itself in her stomach. They had to intubate her before the transfusion could begin. What an evening and what a night! And to say that during this time, a parking ticket was placed on my windshield because I had forgotten to move my car! It is now apparent that her state was very critical because she had lost a lot of blood. I spent the longest hours of my life walking the length of the hospital corridor. It was during one of these walks, which had become a ritual by now, that my eyes met the glance of a man walking past me as he smiled at me. At that moment I was overcome with an immense feeling of Gratitude. I felt warmth in my heart and it felt like a soothing balm coming to wrap itself around the suffering I was living. I was in a moment of my life when hope was at its lowest level and the smile of a man transformed it! This smile became a message of hope for me. I never saw this man again but I never forgot this smile which marked the beginning of a new way of living for me. A heart to heart connection had occurred, the kind of connection which exceeds human mental awareness, but which is engraved deeply in each of us, at the very core of our being. In all events, this smile which made me live so much Gratitude transformed itself into hope. Hope of seeing Mylène recover and finally, seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. From this evening onward, I refuse to fall asleep before having thanked the Universe for at least one Action of Gratitude I received during the day. This practice has never left me since! This event happened more than 15 years ago and my daughter today is a beautiful healthy young girl expressing her youth in a magnificent way. This illness gave her a deep respect for Life and it is so beautiful to see her expressing her love of life! Introduction

While researching to understanding the magnificent power of Gratitude, I found a study which corresponds perfectly with what I lived. According to Paul Linden, Ph.D, co-director of the Columbus Center for Movement Studies (www.being-in-movement.com) when people embody gratitude they will feel softening, warmth or expansiveness especially in their chests and breathing. This physical softening is the essence of the attitude of Gratitude. Obviously, it is not necessary to understand this physiological process to live and to embody Gratitude, but for our rational mind, it is an interesting thing to know. Moreover, it is a down to earth way to recognize Gratitude in Action ∞ Actions of Gratitude in our life. You now have the answer to the question which people ask me: "Why is Gratitude so important to you?" Since that time, I have dedicated my life to the expression of Gratitude in all its forms and at every moment. However, with the years passing by, I noticed seven spheres in which the Essence of Gratitude appeared at its highest expression, while having a major impact into my life. Do you recognize the power of a smile? Since this moment, I smile to all people that meet my eyes, because I know that it may be the only element of Gratitude in this person's day! Introduction
