Ashtanga Yoga is an energetic and dynamic form of yoga. Movement is synchronised with deep rhythmic breathing as you travel through set series of therapeutic yoga postures, building a deep heat throughout the body. Through steady regular practice, working with a balanced approach and always aiming to take the middle path Ashtanga yoga can be seen as a meditation in movement, a philosophy of life, or simply a way of bringing about a sense of well being. Not to mention a great all round cardiovascular exercise; building strength, stamina, flexibility and tone. Dynamic Yoga is a creative style of Hatha yoga with principles of Ashtanga. Dynamic yoga is not only meditative but also physically challenging. Correct breath control is essential to creating a seamless flow of postures. Through regular practise of 'Dynamic' Yoga you can work your cardio-vascular system, increase stamina, improve flexibility and suppleness, improve concentration, develop body and breath control, calm the central nervous system and promote a general feeling of well being. The class will be based on asanas (postures), with breathing awareness, control exercises and relaxation. Hatha Yoga is a physical yoga discipline which trains the body so that the practitioner can work on his or her spirituality. The postures or asanas are used to strengthen, stretch and tone the body as part of yogic practice. During a Hatha yoga session, the practitioner will move through a number of these poses, holding them for varying amounts of time and working in a set order to ensure that muscle groups are slowly warmed up and evenly worked. Another important aspect of Hatha yoga is breath work. Control of the breath is said to be vital to the control of the body, and it also encourages an inward focus which can help to develop one's spirituality. The practice of meditation is also deemed to be an important part of Hatha yoga. The goal is to achieve a balance between mind and body. Barre Central The Lotte Berk Method. The body-chiselling and core strengthening barre workout that is taking America by storm. A fusion of modern ballet, resistance training, yoga and physiotherapy performed at the ballet barre. Achieve a long and lean dancer's physique without dance. Pilates is an exercise method designed to elongate, strengthen and restore the body to balance. Classes focus on specific areas individually whilst using exercises that integrate the whole body to re-educate and restore it to optimum muscular and skeletal function. Osteopaths, physiotherapists and general practitioners recommend Pilates and it can be beneficial for just about everyone regardless of age and fitness level. Yogalates is a highly effective form of mind - body connection exercise that blends the flexibility, meditative, and weight loss elements of yoga and the muscle strengthening and abdominal toning of Pilates. The Yogalates' motto is "ACTIVATE MIND, BODY and SPIRIT". Physical training includes the exercises for all muscle groups and internal organs. In spite of the slow and controlled movements, the participants of the class experience a complete body workout. Psychological training consists of mind preparation, concentration, breath control, task setting, bodyawareness, self-discipline, visualisation, and creation of self-confidence and self-esteem.
