Off- Road Adventures received a U.S. Flag from soldiers in Afghanistan. The flag flew over a forward base camp in Ghanzi for the entire month of April. It was sent to Off-Road Adventures in honor of their efforts in Operation Light Sabre. So far this effort led by Denis Snow and Andrea Friedenthal has sent 1,500 lights to troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Congrats to the ORA team, you make us all proud! After reading the letters from soldiers thanking the ORA team for the lights has inspired me to pledge my race winnings for the 2011 season to this cause. Anyone else want to join me? Check out more information at www.4wheelparts.com/info/bravo.aspx Thank you for your business with 4 Wheel Parts and enjoy this month's free Off-Road Adventures magazine. - Greg Adler p Exclusive magazine for customers of 4 WHEEL PARTS WHOLESALERS, 4WHEEL DRIVE HARDWARE and off-roading enthusiasts everywhere 400 W. 6 / ORA AUGUST 2011 LETTERS &STUFF THIS KID'S GOT DRIVE & DETERMINATION My dad spoke with you last week. My name is Anthony and I am 15 years old. At the age of 10, I got this 1981 Jeep that was my project. I worked odd jobs and bought new items for my Jeep as I worked. After 5 years my project is complete. This is what it looks like now. Please take a look at the attachment and let me know if it could be in your magazine that I read all the time. Anthony - At age 10 you started this project and stuck it out for 5 years? INCREDIBLE! You are obviously very mature beyond your years. Keep this focus and tenacity and you're going places in your life. Keep it up! BTW, good job on the Jeep! NATHAN GETS KELSIE HOOKED This is the pair of 1995 Chevy S-10 Blazer daily drivers my wife and I have built from stock. We are both members of dfw-tx4wd.org. The green...blue one belongs to me, and the maroon one is my wife's. In the club we go by "Blazinator" and "SpecialK" You can see some of our off-road adventures on my youtube channel here: youtube.com/user/nathan61984. I took my wife on a trail ride with the club once in my blazer...I will never forget the first time I let her drive; she scaled her first obstacle, looked over at me giggling, and said "I want my own." A few weeks later we had sold her 2003 2WD Ford SuperCrew and were building her own trail rig. It's been two years now and she's still hooked. We love your magazine and would be honored if our trucks appeared in it. Both trucks feature: * 2" torsion bar crank/shackle lift * Pro Comp ES3000 off-road shock absorbers * 5/16" rear wheel spacers * Goodyear Wrangler Authority 31x10.5 R15 tires * CB Radio * Fire Extinguisher * 4 forward facing off-road lights * 2 rear facing off-road lights Green Truck only: * Energy Suspension performance motor mounts * 4 undercarriage off-road lights * A/C inverter * Aluminum motor and transfer case skid plates Soon to come for both trucks is a rear locker. Thanks, Nathan and Kelsie Donald Brownwood, TX 8 Email your questions, comments and images (in jpeg format at 2-5 mb). with your name, address & phone number to info@oramagazine.com STEPHANIE PLAYS WITH THE BIG BOYS My name is Stephanie from North Bend, WA. I am 18 years old and bought my first wheeler a few months after I turned 16. Nothing special just an '88 Cherokee. I am one of the only girls in my area that wheel, at least that I know about, and I do it with my dad and his buddies. I don't do too bad keeping up with the boys and I hold my own. It's mostly home built with a little help from 4 Wheel Parts :-). The lift would equal out to about a 5-inches running 33s. Lock-Right in the rear, Smittybilt 10,000 lb. winch, lower control arms, some pipe rocker sliders and a winch bumper. Reiter Pit helped customize my body and now it's all about Evans Creek and Elbe Hills (riding areas), where I attempted the Busywild trail and where I lost my mirror in March. I've always wanted my rig in your guy's mag. That's bragging rights for a girl you know! My dad and I love to read y'alls articles and see other rigs to get ideas. So thank you! TONY'S MORE TO LIFE TRUCK Every month I look forward to your magazine. I figured I would try my luck at submitting my truck. My truck is a 1996 Chevy 1500 Z71 Silverado. It has a 6" Dick Cepek lift, torsion keys, 35-inch Mickey Thompson tires and wheels. Ram air hood, custom bumper, cold air intake, throttle body spacer, electric fans, and a bunch of other goodies. This truck is my neverending project. It made me realize there is more to life than gas mileage! Thanks, Tony Gapczynski
