A Special Thank You from Coast Observer to the following that donated to the Shed Employee Fund Ray & Renee Klein Signature Stitches Within a matter of hours Big Hoss, Mike and Alena Hosli came driving in with their smoker blazing ready to start feeding the crew and volunteers. Merchants Foodservice supplied a refrigerated truck to hold the food with 35 cases of donated product to feed the Shed crew and volunteers. Mobile kitchens from The Blow Fly Inn's owner Scott Weinberg, Richard Chenoweth of Scranton's with partners Matthew Mayfield and Ramsey Taylor of Tay's BBQ, Bob Taylor owner of Half Shell Oyster House and Chris Soldo owner of Baron's arrived. Bruce Posey, Posey Construction donated and filled the generators with diesel. Mobile Fixture & Equipment Company from Mobile, Al. arrived with enough equipment to completely fill The Shed's forty- foot trailer and the next day came back and assembled two walk-in coolers. Thanks to Tim Wold and the Bertucci family of FEB Distributing / Miller Lite, a beer wagon served donated beer for five days to all staff, volunteers and contributors. Budweiser also brought a trailer for us to use. Thanks to Coca Cola Poweraid and water were available. Good friends from Delta Sanitation shows up with some well needed Port-a-Pottys. Our original Shed stage is fine but too dangerously close to the rubble of the fire. So Houseboat Sammy's floating dock is now the new stage. Son-in-law Bobby Lewis turned his attention to turning the platform into the coolest stage I've ever seen. Contractor Bobby Lewis Senior is in place to be the Chief Contractor to resurrect The Shed. He and his sons are reknown on the Coast for building huge custom homes. Good thing he's a relative and a true ShedHed or we'd end up with a Shed Mansion! I liked the quote that Brad made in the newspaper "I can't tell you that we'll build it back bigger and better because I thought it was perfect just the way it was." 6 w March 2012 w Mississippi Coast Observer

D'Iberville, MS--I am totally enthralled with French-Italian cuisine, and, now I have found a new favorite spot to have a major pig-out on a trim budget! On my third day of devouring pizzas, pastas and subs, it is time to push away the plate and tell you what a wonderful experience Cheli and I had! First of all Strami's has had a total face lift under it's new ownership. The gelato chiller has been moved to create more seating at the new shale layered counter. The chairs have been randomly replaced with several mix-matched, comfy arm chairs. And the walls are now covered with numerous French-Italian inspired paintings and photos. The staff is young and fun with Dreamy Donovan, Skater Dude Brad, Sexy Sydney, and Hip-Funky Taylor making the place a cool little hangout. Tall-darkand_handsome, energetic and fun, innovative and genius, the owner, Gabriel, has brought us some fabulous artisan pizzas, calzones, strombolis, the freshest mix of many salads, sandwiches and pastas. He literally shops daily to ensure top quality ingredients are used in his top quality meals. Strami's was chosen by a slew of hotels to be on their speed dial delivery over many of the top pizza delivery competitors! To begin with, Cheli had the Mediterranean Salad - romaine lettuce, baby spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, and onions, black olives and feta with croutons and a superb balsamic-vinagrette dressing. I had the Gamberetto Salad - spring mix with baby spinach, cherry tomatoes, red onion, black olives and parsley topped with sauteed spiced baby shrimp and ranch dressing. The side that we chose with our subs was Campanelle Pasta Salad - pasta, red onion, garlic, cherry tomatoes, artichoke hearts, and bell peppers, capers, parsley and thyme. They also offer garden, caesar, chef, and Italian Antipasto salads. You can add grilled chicken or shrimp to any salad, and did I mention the freshness of these veggies!!??! We then moved on to a ridiculous sampling of four specialty pizzas! We had the Carnivorous Pizza - homemade Italian red sauce base, topped with mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, Italian sausage, bacon, hamburger and Canadian bacon; a meat-lovers dream, wonderfully traditional on a perfect thin crust! Our very, very favorite, the Strami's Gourmet Pizza - pesto base, topped with mozzarella, portobello mushrooms, baby spinach, artichoke hearts, sun dried tomatoes and feta, we added grilled chicken and bacon to it, and oh my, we fell in love deeply (with the pizza!) We had the Bar-B-Que Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza - barbecue sauce base, topped with mozzarella, hamburger, bacon, onions, diced jalapenos, and cheddar cheese, surprisingly a-mazing!! One more pizza, (I know, I told you it was ridiculous!), the Furious Hawaiian Pizza - homemade Italian red sauce base, topped with mozzarella, ham, bacon, tri-colored peppers, banana peppers, diced jalapenos and pineapple; I usually am not a fan of ham and pineapple on pizza, but, this pizza was incredible! Completely sated, we now sampled two of many subs. The Philly Cheese Steak Sub - chopped grilled steak, sauteed bell peppers and ions topped with provolone and lightly toasted. Our neighboring diners told us they drive from Saucier at least twice a week to have this, possibly the best philly on the coast, with a side of alfredo sauce for dipping! But, I really loved the Parisian Garden Sub - portobello mushrooms, sauteed peppers and red onions, cherry tomatoes, black olives, and feta topped with olive oil and herbs; a to-die-for vegetarian dream! Strami's also offers an Italian Sub, Meatball Sub, Ham & Turkey, Cajun Grilled Chicken, Strami's Italian Pizza Sub, and of course, a Muffuletta! Now, we have to try the pasta! Really?! Chicken Parmesan - lightly breaded chicken breast on angel hair pasta and covered in homemade red sauce, topped with both mozzarella and parmesan cheese, served with delicious garlic toast; I could at, (on another day!), a half a loaf of this french bread with lemon garlic butter and Italian herbs. Penne with Vodka Sauce - both French and Italian flavors with Russian Vodka; a truely spectacular international, signature dish! Also served with the same wonderful garlic bread! Other pasta options include Aurelias French Alfredo with chicken or shrimp, Spaghetti with Italian sausage or meatballs, Baked Ziti, and yes, Meat Lasagna. For dessert the Gelato is still a raging hit as are cappuccino, latte, and beer! Strami's offers gourmet and traditional fare, all are created by Gabriel, a true artisan chef who is training his cooks to install the freshness and quality that he himself insists upon!
