LOWER SCHOOL NEWS: PESACH PREP בס”ד Thank you to Mrs. Sorah Mindy Cynamon and Rabbi Kahana for coordinating many of our Pesach projects and activities! Our 4th graders built wooden “bencher boxes” perfect for holding Hagaddahs! Our 2nd graders made beautiful matzah covers! The boys look forward to using them over Pesach at your Seder table! Pesach Assemblies In preparation for Pesach the 4th and 5th graders gathered for an assembly. First Shauli Dinner led the boys in a beautiful rendition of Simcha Leiner’s song Rabona Olam. Then, Rabbi Tzvi Holland from the Star-K and a TA parent, reviewed the mitzvos of the seder with our talmidim. His presentation was hands on, interactive, entertaining and educational. Thank you Rabbi Holland for taking time from your busy schedule to visit the Yeshiva. In the theme of “meavdus l’cherus” the 1st-3rd graders had the unique opportunity to hear from Rabbi Hersel Gholian. Rabbi Gholian shared his daring and harrowing escape from Iran to Baltimore. He explained how he hired a smuggler to take his family on camels across the border into Afghanistan. He left Iran 35 years ago with only one bag of belongings. Rabbi Gholian is now an accomplished sofer in our community. Thank you Rabbi Gholian for sharing your incredible story with our students! ט‘‏ ניסן תשע”ז 2 פסח

Invitations have been sent out and grandparents can RSVP at www.tagrandparentsday.com or 410-484-6600 ext. 388. We understand that not every child has a grandparent that will be able to attend. We therefore encourage the attendance of aunts, unlces, cousins or any other “grandfriend” who will be able to come and spend time with your son. Mesivta News Lev L’achim Collection A sense of achrayus is an important middah to cultivate in our talmidim. With that in mind, our Mesivta Bochurim set out on a mission before Purim to help out our brothers and sisters in Eretz Yisroel who depend on the Lev L’Achim organization. Under the leadership of the Gabboim, Aryeh Birnbaum, Chaim Yisroel Freedman, Chaim Jaffe, Ari Purec, Mattisyahu Schuldenfrei, Eliezer Skaist, and Raphael Tanen, the bochurim mobilized and facilitated a very successful campaign, raising over $25,000. The talmidim worked very hard going door to door always with a smile and appreciation for any contribution given to them. They had a goal to help others in need and help they did. It was a fabulous showing of achdus and organization. A call was received by the High School office to say how wonderful the boys acted when they came to collect at one senior citizen’s home. She was very taken aback by the incredible resemblance that one of the boys had to her beloved grandson. She was so impressed with their dancing, singing and general demeanor that she called her not yet religious grandson in college in North Carolina right after they left to tell him about their visit! We are so proud of them and the Kiddush Hashem they created. Camp Chofetz Chaim News Spring discount deadline Have you signed up for Camp Chofetz Chaim? What are you waiting for?
