National Responsible Gambling Counselling Line - 0800 006 008 From e Editor By all accounts the recent Global Gaming Expo, held early October in Las Vegas, showed signs that the US gaming market is poised to begin its recovery. As the rest of the world looks hopefully for signs of positive sentiment from one of the most important global gaming markets, and from which many other jurisdictions take their cue when planning the roll-out of new technologies and gaming trends, this year's G2E held a bit of a mixed bag. G2E is arguably the world's most important showcase for new technology and gaming trends and this year's show was no less important than in previous years. Read David Snooks review of the show in this issue. News from the African continent is that Zambia is looking to consolidate its contrtol over gaming operators with a centralised monitoring system, taking its cue from its South African counterparts who do the same for slots outside of casinos. This will herald a new era in gaming responsibility in that country.
