As usual, you will find inspiration in our pages and admiration for those in our featured profiles. Boldness is the theme this fall and in this issue. We are very proud to bring you another Montreal exclusive: Khloé Kardashian Odom. The funny, honest and loyal Khloé is someone you want to know. Forget any comparison with her siblings: Whether promoting her new line of drinks or opening up about her commitment to her family, her presence is always a tour-de-force. Speaking of indomitable forces, Gordon Ramsay has built an empire that spans from restaurants to branded retail to reality television. There's really something inherently likable about him. Is it his unwavering commitment to quality? Is it the way that he finishes a directive with a simple, "Good"? Maybe it is simply that he inspires others to do their best. Yes, Chef! This fall is also daring and uncompromising. Women have shades of ruby on their lips and peplum flares and colour blocking on their bodies. Men's fashion is all about spice and flavour: claret and cranberry accents and the ever-popular pepper grey. This season, be seen and be heard! Enjoy! LR NYC Restaurant Report NYC's Restaurant Week T he top three picks on the Luxury Report list this year were the esteemed Le Cirque, the delicious STK Midtown, and the famed Russian Tea Room. roughout the city, countless restaurants wowed foodies with their culinary skills. ese three restaurants created menus featuring not only new dishes, but their most famous recipes as well. Le Cirque's atmosphere is almost as much of a treat as the food, with doodled drawings of circus acts displayed elegantly along the wall, and a neutral brown and gold color scheme that puts you at ease as you dine. e sta members were beyond accommodating. Favorites were absolutely the watermelon salad, the lobster risotto, and the crème brulee. e best part is that even though you're full, you leave aer your meal feeling light, rather than having heaviness in your stomach. For my dish, though they stuck strictly to the Restaurant Week menu, they were kind enough to pair a corn hash with my delicate 8 LuxuryReportMagazine.com A Peek at the Picks Le Cirque ©www.lecirque.com salmon entree at my request. "Delicious" doesn't even come close to describing the food at Le Cirque! It was also fun to see Matthew Broderick peering in from outside upon exiting the restaurant. Love him. STK Midtown was chic in ambience as always and our waiter Jay was fantastic... very warm and informative. e mussels were incredible. At rst, I was disappointed to see only four mussels until I saw how gigantic they were, not to mention succulent. It felt as if you were eating an entire bowl full. ough the upscale chain is most known for their brilliant cuts of beef, I chose to dine on the Arctic Char entrée from their Restaurant Week menu. I was more than satised with each silky bite of the tenderly cooked sh. e Russian Tea Room was a bit of a throwback in old luxury, which created a fun and eclectic environment. Out of everything tried that night, I still have to say that their decadent teas were indeed the highlight of the evening. (continued on page 10)

LR NYC Restaurant Report The Prix Fixe Continues Many restaurants decided to extend their Restaurant Week menus until the beginning of September because of the stir their amazing meals caused throughout the city of New York. ankfully, Le Cirque was on the list of NYC Go's newly titled Prix-Fixe restaurants, so of course I had to go for a second run. And, believe me, it was just as amazing as the rst Restaurant Week trial. Other amazing spots that continued with their prix-xe selections were Michael Jordan's Steakhouse, Duo Restaurant & Lounge, and 2 West. As per the basketball king, his menu was fun, featuring a couple of items that actually honor Jordan himself. Whether you're ordering the MJ Sundae or the Jordan Fizz, you can toast to the legend in style. Duo Restaurant is another delicious prix-xe treasure that I visited. ough their Restaurant Week menu looked quite fun, I couldn't help but be intrigued by the "lunch boxes" and the black true pizza appetizer on their regular menu. eir regular menu won. Not only was the true pizza big enough for three or four people to eat, it tasted amazing! In addition, my lunch box was a work of art on a plate and the atmosphere was relaxing, modern, and full of swank. 2 West at the Ritz-Carlton was a denite star, from the food to the décor to the sta, particularly the manager, Bryan Madison, who was most accommodating. eir creamy maine lobster bisque with butter-poached lobster meat was luscious in avor, and the 10 LuxuryReportMagazine.com Back By Popular Demand Duo Restaurant & Lounge © Photo by Lauren Weigle mixed berry tart with apricot sauce made this berry lover swoon. Generally adhering to an esteemed business crowd along with luxury guests, the French-American steakhouse features colorful and avorful dishes that are perfect for taking out valued clients, business associates, or even a hot date.
